YOUNG COMMITMENT, OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT
 by Trebor Britt
How does someone have 10 years dance experience when they’re a teenager? Answer. . . they start dancing when they’re 3, and that’s exactly what Anya Sagerpic 0407 of Saratoga Springs, NY did. This incredible, enthusiastic, free spirited performer decided little more than a year ago to start preparing for a professional career in dance. Our lenses captured her doing ballet leaps on Siesta Beach for her mom, Jen. They are in Sarasota after Anya was selected to perform in a summer Intensive Program with the Sarasota Ballet. She performed with other intensive students at the FSU Performing Arts Center.
Before leaving NY to come here Anya attended a ballet training program at the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet Academy in NYC where she received an offer to join their year round full day professional training program.

At the end of her last school year this over achieving student performer received high honors and was a recipient of the Principals Award for academic excellence. Though it’s difficult to balance school with a demanding dance schedule, this selfless young dancer is also a member of National Junior Honor Society and mentors younger students at school.
Anya is also passionate about music and art and plays both the flute and tenor saxophone in a concert/marching band and a jazz band.  She loves to listen to jazz music and you’ll often find her practicing her saxophone when she isn’t dancing.

It won’t be long before you’ll get to see her leaping through the air on a big stage as she will continue her ballet training and aspires to have a dance career with a professional ballet company.
