Flag Ceremony

About 30 years ago,  this Tribute Ceremony that we continue to honor and teach new generations of young people is In Honor of Captain Ralph Styles (a Decorated WWII Submarine Captain in the Pacific Theater), who began this Tribute Ceremony at Public Access 3.

Each sunset, our community and new friends from around the world, come together at Patriot’s Pier on Siesta Key via Public Access #2 at 10 Beach Road . The Tribute Ceremony commences with the following:

“Welcome to Patriots Pier at Sunset Point Pier!

We thank you for joining our nightly Tribute to honor  the sacrifices of our Military and Service Personnel and First Responders in protecting our Country and Our Freedoms!

We are the land of the Free because of the Brave!”

In Respecting the Orders of the Governor on May 4th, we carefully resumed our morning and Sunset Ceremonies at Patriots Pier at Sunset Point!

May is a significant month of special remembrance Ceremonies as we honor our Patriots.

We honored our Nurses and First Responders during week one as Florence Nightingale Week.

We remembered Patriot Pat Tillman we lost in May 2004.

May 7, The National Day of Prayer.

May 8, We Honored V-E (Victory in Europe) Day in Remembrance of the US, British and Russian victory over Germany in WWII.

May 15 is Fallen Peace Officers Day began by President John Kennedy in October 1961.

May 16 is Armed Forces Day began in 1949 by Secretary of Defense  Louis Johnson to be remembered the Third Saturday each May.

And this year May 25, 2020, we have a special Memorial Day Ceremony.

Patriots Pier at Sunset Point is a special place of Peace and also Ceremonies for Weddings, Celebrations of Life, Hope, Inspiration, Spirituality, and for Patriot believers changing and understanding their Services and Destiny.

In this picture, Patriot Lily presents to our Deputies representing our Fallen Peace Officers, the Traditional Wreath in this Remembrance Ceremony.  Lily and Annie (Captain Styles Daughter) then after a moment of silence and then the ringing of the bells, led us in — “I Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America…”.
