Have you been to the Art Center in Sarasota yet?

The Art Center boasts many gifted artists and a beautiful garden highlights talented sculptors from around the area.  The Art Center provides art education, exhibitions and cultural programs.  The community has access to the visual arts as an artist or a viewer.  You may visit any of the four galleries at no charge.  Each feature different exhibits.  There are established and emerging artists displayed throughout the year.  Exhibits generally run for 6 weeks.  A large part of their goal is to promote local artists.  This month will feature in Gallery 1: Organic Mechanic by Russ Bellamy, Gallery 2: Back Roads to Back Home, Gallery 3: Black Box Project – these projects are student based, Gallery 4: Coming Home (members only) all media juried.  http://artsarasota.org/

There is a beautiful garden next to the center that was donated by Sally & Sam Shapiro – Sam was a past president of the Art Center.  The garden is small and relaxing.  It features many beautiful plants, a quaint brick path and sculptures throughout.  You can see butterflies fluttering about while enjoying some peace and quiet in this charming garden.   Take a moment to enjoy this tranquil setting, just on the outskirts of downtown Sarasota.  The Art Center is open Mon – Sat from 10am to 4pm.  It is located at 707 North Tamiami Trail | Sarasota, FL 34236 | 941.365.2032 http://artsarasota.org/shapirogarden
