Every Friday Night it’s Live from Downtown – It’s Friday Nights! 6 to 9pm

Friday night downtown is hopping… featuring Live performances by musician, entertainers & performing Arts in a different downtown Sarasota neighborhood each week.  Every month a new theme to enjoy Sarasota’s unique arts appeal…

First Friday of the month – Main St at Five Points Park & Palm Ave

Second Friday of the month – Burns Square – south of Main St. just past Ringling Blvd & S. Pineapple.

Third Friday of the month – Towles Court – Adams & Washington.  (on Adams Lane)

April 18, 10am to 7pm – Suncoast BBQ & Bluegrass Bash at the Venice Airport park, BBQ teams will be competing for a $20,000! There will be a chili cook off, bake-off & Live Bluegrass.  Free admission. Venice Airport Festival Grounds, 595 Airport Ave E., Venice, FL.

April 18, 4pm to 7:30pm – Barefoot Beach Bazaar with a large selection of handmade artisan items.  Nokomis Beach Plaza, 100 Casey Key Road, Nokomis.

April 18 & 19, 10am to 5pm St. Armand’s Fine Art Festival.  Artists’ works of art!  Sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography and more.  Free admission.  St. Armand’s Circle.

April 25, 11am to 8pm Suncoast Blues Festival, featuring headliner Bobby Rush, plus Smokin’ Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Eden Brent, Mr. Sipp, Zac Harmon and Vasti Jackson. Tickets $30 until April 1, $40 at the gate. Sarasota Fairgrounds, 30000 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota.

April 25, 12pm to 6pm Braden River Bluegrass Festival and Gumbo Cook off featuring headliner, James King, HWY 41 SOUTH, Beaumont!, Sonya Stratton and Straight South plus a gumbo cook off. $20 includes gumbo tasting.  Linger Lodge Restaurant & campgrounds, 7205 85th St., Court E, Bradenton.

April 26, 11:30am to 2pm – Ride the Beaches by Sharky’s on the Pier. A 70 mile, 35 mile and 15 mile ride. Check in starts at 6:30am. (Breakfast available) The ride benefits the Live Strong Foundation. $40 registration. Sharky’s is at 1600 Harbor Drive, Venice.Kathy Griffin
