March 1 to 7 – 35th Annual Jazz Festival ……………………………………………………………….

March 1 – Festival Kickoff – Jazz in the Park, 1 to 4 pm. Free admission and parking!

Featuring jazz violinist, Doug Cameron & concerts by the top HS Jazz Bands at Phillippi Estate Park Sarasota.

March 3 – The Sarasota Jazz Project Big Band with bassist John Lamb and vocalist June Garber

March 4 – Jazz Trolley & Pub Crawl.  Hop on and off the trolley and enjoy a fun night of jazz at venues around town.

March 5 – Freddy Cole – “Jazz Meets the Blues” The Freddy Cole Quartet with Freddy Cole-piano-vocals, Herman Burney – bass, Randy Napoleon, guitar and Henry Conerway, on drums.

March 6 – A Tribute to Brubeck – Karla Harris sings the Dave & Iola Brubeck Songbook with the Ted Howe Trio.

March 7 – Dick Hyman & Ken Peplowski with vocalist Kitt Moran.

Evening Concerts on 3/3, 3/5, 3/6 & 3/7 will begin at 7:30 pm at The Riverview HS Performing Arts Center. 1 Ram Way, Sarasota.

March 21, 22 – The Sarasota Folk Festival 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday & 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.  3 stages of music at the Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey. There will be workshops with personal tips and instructions from artists and a jam tent for aspiring musicians! Saturday from 3 to 5 pm a contest will be help for upcoming artist, people’s choice award.  The winner will have a paid slot at next year’s event!
