October 1 from 8 to 11pm Ringling Underground. Enjoy live music and art at the Courtyard. The event features an eclectic mix of local and regional live music. This month features Bird Tribe 8 to 8:45pm, Redfeather 9 to 9:45pm and Megan Jean & The KFB 10 to 11pm
Check out up-and-coming artists displaying their work in the Museum of Art Courtyard. Some galleries will be open until 11pm.
October 1 & 2 at 7:30pm – Enjoy the comedy of John Cleese and Eric Idle at the Van Wezel. This British duo together for the first time will have you entertained from the get go! Scripted and improvised skits with storytelling, musical numbers, exclusive footage, aquatic juggling and an audience Q&A. No two shows will be quite the same with this unique performance.
October 1 & 4 – Pirates of Penzance – HD Film at the Sarasota Opera House
October 1 to 18 – Exit Laughing at the Venice Theatre.
October to Nov. 20 Rumplestiltskin at Florida Studio Theatre. A classic children’s story comes to life.
October 2 to 25 – Church Basement Ladies at the Venice Theatre.
October 10 at 3pm – Pearlman Music Program Alumni at the Sarasota Opera House
October 13 at 7:30pm – Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra at the Van Wezel – An awe-inspiring musical experience featuring original pieces and the works of masters…
October 14 at 7:30 – Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Van Wezel – A classic musical with amazing characters, eye catching costumes and extravagant sets that will have you drawn into this production.
October 14 to Nov 21 – The Color Purple at the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe.
October 15 at 8pm – Rick Springfield in concert. Experience this legendary Rock performer at the Van Wezel.
October 15 at 6pm. It’s the RIAF opening night! – Ringling International Arts Festival – Finally, it’s that time of year again for all the exciting performances at the Ringling!

Oct 16 & 17 From 5 to 8pm – Jazz on the Bay at the Ringling Bayfront Gardens. Classis Jazz with Don Mopsick All Stars under the tent on the bayfront. This event is free with a RIAF performance ticket stub, regular Museum Admission or Art After 5 Admission
October 22 at 11am & 6pm – Gallery Walk & Talk – Royal Taste: The Art of Princely Courts in Fifteenth Century China at the Ringling Museum.
October 24 at 10:30am – Ming a Brilliant Dynasty – at Historic Asolo Theatre.
October 24 at 8pm – The Ultimate Doo Wop Show at the Van Wezel
October 29 at 8pm – So You Think you can Dance – at the Van Wezel – The top 10 Finalist of the 12th season will some of their most popular sets along with new performances on their nationwide tour.
